Heavy duty horticultural fleece protects succulents from frost during cold spells over the winter. The fleece can be laid flat over large areas of plants, or used to wrap larger specimens individually. This is heavy duty 30gsm fleece measuring 1.5m in diameter, perfect to give an extra layer of protection to succulents during cold spells. The fleece is available in 1, 5 & 10 meter lengths.

We recommend that all tender succulents be taken into a dry space such as a shed/greenhouse or cold frame in the winter. When tempretures reach freezing, we make sure to give them an extra fleece blanket. When tempretures get much below freezing (-3 and less), we tend to add extra layers too.

It is important to remember to remove the fleece once the cold spell has passed as succulents need as much light as possible during the winter months in the UK. A darker, damper environment with the fleece installed is also a breeding ground for pests & mould if left on for longer periods of time.

Although the fleece is breathable, at Corseside Nursery we tend to add and remove fleece on a daily basis to make sure that good air circulation is still getting to the plants.
