This listing is for a carefully packaged well rooted Orbea Variegata succulent grown in locally sourced, organic, peat-free compost here in West Wales, UK. The succulents are available as well-rooted plug plants or larger potted plants. (Mother plant “Henrietta” pictured for reference)
Orbea Variegata or Stapelia Variegata has to be one of the most interesting and unique succulents in our collection! It’s tentacle-like sprawling succulent stems grow into a dense mound that trail over the edge of pots and planters when mature. It has the most fabulous star shaped flowers that appear in the Autumn and last for ages. These succulent flowers are pollinated by flies so they don’t carry the normal sweet scent of bee attracting flowers, they can produce quite a pong!
This is definitely a succulent you will want in your collection. It’s easy-to-grow, tolerates shade or sunshine and doesn’t mind a bit of over or under watering. As with most succulents, Orbea Variegata is best kept as an indoor house plant. It would enjoy a warm conservatory or kitchen window the best.
